As 2018 is here I am looking back at my 2017– 365 days. It is rewind of things which make me happy and proud on myself and few things which I was not able to do too :(

So, starting with the good part:

  1. JSLovers’s New Chapter

JSLovers is the community for the developers. I am the founder of this community. We do tech meetups and code-labs. We started in Delhi and this year I started JSLovers’s Mumbai chapter. Big thanks to Microsoft , Mumbai for helping us with Speakers and Venue

2. Attended Google IO

Going to GoogleIO is one of the biggest highlight of 2017. The trip was sponsored by my office — Toaster. I met so many tech industry mentors and especially met the people from whom I learned a lot — Addy Osmani, Paul Irish, Paul Kinlan , Tracy Lee and many more. I wrote about this here too.

3. Speaker at Devfest , Czech

My Speaker Badge and Beer Mug

I am a very active speaker in my own city. In 2017 I got selected to be part of Devfest, Czech. It is a big opportunity for me to go there meet more developers and share my knowledge on Google Assistant with IOT.

4 . Gifted myself a Cycle

My Cycle ❤

This is for health and economy. When ever I travel out of India I realized that cabs and other mode of transport are bit expensive but cycle (bike) there are cheaper. Hence I bought myself a cycle as soon as I came back from USA and every weekend did cycling. Also, it is good for health too :)

5. Calligraphy

I love Art and enjoy doing it. I am not good artist but I do have huge collection of the colors and all art tools. Calligraphy is something I wanted to learn and this year with help of my colleagues I learned this new skill and finished Ink-october challenge.

6. Women Tech Maker

(L to R ) Speaking at Linuxchix, My WTM tee, Speaking at WTM , New Delhi

I am very active tech speaker but this year I also talked about non-tech stuff- my journey in tech industry, how I started my community etc. I am happy to see that my story is able to inspire young girls in tech at different platforms-Google Dev Groups, New Delhi, Women Tech Makers, Linuxchix

PS: Follow me on my Tech dedicated Instagram

7. JSLovers’s Youtube Channel

This is something I wanted to do from many times but was not able to do but this year I started my youtube channel and focusing on it.

Things which I am not able to do or regret doing in 2017 :(

  1. Pet Projects — I started my own few projects and sadly I am not able to finish them. There were 2 projects whose 70% work is done and not able to finish it.
  2. Sleeping Early — I was a night person and at starting of 2017 I managed to change it but after few days I was again back to sleeping late and this is very bad for my health and schedule.
  3. Netflix — I got VERY MUCH addicted to Netflix. Back to back watching series and movies. This is why I was not sleeping early and hitting my productivity too.

In a nutshell 2017 was great for me. I am not a resolution-making person. But I keep evaluating myself and then identify what should I change in myself or what new skills I should start learning.

As working on yourself is ongoing process.

Happy New year!!
